James Costello, CPA, CA, is the CEO of Tool Shed Brewing Company Inc. Over the past 2 years, he has successfully led the brewery alongside Graham Sherman and Jim Webster through a challenging five-month Division 1 court proposal process, emerging on May 5, 2024. He has since driven the company into significant double-digit growth, with product distribution from BC to Ontario.

Beyond Tool Shed, James directs the growth of Pedal Pub in Calgary and Edmonton and has franchised four additional locations across Canada. He is also rebuilding the recently acquired True Buch Kombucha brand while expanding Tool Shed Zero’s, the brewery’s innovative dealcoholized beer line, across the country in a state of the art 8,000 square foot secondary brewery.

James is a strong advocate for collaboration over competition, working closely with fellow craft breweries in Alberta and nationwide. He actively supports industry awards and organizations such as the Alberta Small Brewers Association, advancing the visibility and success of Canadian craft beer.
