Jordan Ramey
Jordan Ramey, PhD, is the co-founder and Chief Executive of The Burwood Group, which includes Burwood Distillery, the historic Stables Building in Calgary, and Veranda, a 400-seat restaurant and event space. With a doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma in association with UCLA, Jordan built his career at the intersection of science and craft, specializing in beverage quality. Today, he leads The Burwood Group as a hands-on executive, hiring and developing teams, shaping and executing strategic vision, overseeing financial planning, and directing all operations across its businesses.
He was instrumental in launching Olds College’s Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management Program, Western Canada’s first teaching brewery, and has since driven innovation across brewing and distilling. In 2016, he co-founded Burwood Distillery, known for its gins, whiskies, and pioneering honey-based spirits crafted from Alberta-grown ingredients.
Jordan also serves on the board of the Alberta Craft Distillers Association, advocating for modernization of craft beverage policy across Canada. He has been featured on CBC’s Dragons’ Den, Global TV, and in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40.
